Union Budget 2026-27 reflects the
government’s intent to sustain
high economic growth through
continuity, investment-led
expansion, and rural support.
The Indian fertiliser industry has
responsibly been ensuring availability
of fertilisers across the
country to the farmers. Fertiliser
management in all aspects from
production, distribution, marketing
and application have to be aligned
to the same objective of sustainability
in each element of value
chain.
Fertiliser management at every step
of supply chain will play significant
role in sustainable growth in farm
productivity and help in achieving
climate goals.
The future of agriculture lies in
the convergence of smart agri-food
systems, environmental
stewardship, and sustainable
agronomy.
There is a need for inclusive
research to know the effects of
continuous cropping system on soil
properties, and suggestive cropping
systems for agro-climatic zones
across the country having better
system productivity on sustainable
basis, keeping the food security
intact.
The international market is quite
volatile and ups/downs are witnessed
depending on demand-supply position,
geo-political disruptions, restrictions,
etc. However, fertiliser companies have
been putting their sincere and intense
efforts in ensuring finished products
and raw materials.
