The
Fertiliser Association of India (FAI) was set up in 1955, and registered as
a company. FAI is the national representative body of all fertiliser
manufacturers in India comprising public, private, joint and cooperative
sectors. It is a non-profit, non-trading organization of fertiliser
manufactures, distributors, technologists, plant/equipment manufactures,
research institutes and others interested in fertilisers. |

Main object of FAI is to bring together all concerned with the production, marketing and use of fertilisers with a view of promoting
solution of industry problems, to assist industry in improving its operative efficiency and to promote the most productive use of balanced
fertilisers for raising agricultural productivity. |

| FUNCTIONING | ||||||||
|
The work of the Association is guided by the Board of Directors assisted by Advisory Committees in different disciplines. The Advisory Committees comprises 20-25 senior experts/heads of respective disciplines, from member organizations. Each Advisory Committee is normally headed by a member of FAI Board so that proper linkage between board which decides and steer the focus of FAI activities and the Advisory Committees which reflect the views of the experts in each discipline. The following 6 Advisory Committees are functioning: 1. Technical Advisory Committee 2. Pollution Advisory Committee 3. Marketing Advisory Committee 4. Agricultural Sciences Advisory Committee 5. SSP Advisory Committee 6. IT Advisory Committee.
